Wood Haven Cabins Retreat is only a short drive to Tyler, Edom, Ben Wheeler, Canton, Athens and Lake Palestine.

Top Tyler Area Attractions. The Caldwell Zoo, Tyler Rose Garden Center, Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge, Brookshire's World of Wildlife Museum and Country Store, and The 1859 Goodman-LeGrand House and Museum are just a few of the great places to visit in Tyler. Visit Edom, Texas! Edom is just a short 5 minute drive from Wood Haven Cabin Retreat. Several Artisans operate small shops in Edom featuring pottery, art, and antiques. In the summer, pick fresh blue berries at Blue Berry Hill Farms. To learn more about what Edom has to offer visit the East Texas tourist information page. Less than 1 1/2 mile from our retreat, you also find Blue Moon Gardens, which is always a relaxing place to visit if you like unique plants and flowers.

There is always something to do in Ben Wheeler. Ben Wheeler is a short 10 mile drive from the retreat. It features several nice restaurants and shops and is always an interesting place to visit. To learn more, visit the City of Ben Wheeler's web site.

Canton First Mondays and other attractions.  What started more than a hundred years ago as a flea market is now one of the most fun Trade Days in the state of texas. Once a month the small town of Canton becomes a bustling sea of vendors and shoppers on First Monday. Canton, just a 20 minute drive from the retreat, also features a Splash Kingdom water park and Yesterland Farm. For more information about Canton, see the Visit Canton home page.

Athens. Home of the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center, local shops, and many restaurants, Athens is located about 25 miles east of the Retreat. To learn more about Athens, visit athenstx.org.

Lake Palestine. Less than 15 minutes drive from our retreat is Lake Palestine. A 25,600 acre recreational lake with a total length of 18 miles and an average depth of 16.25 feet. The lake is a very popular place for bass tournaments, and catching trophy fish, but is also a popular place for skiing, jet skis and boating. The lake has several marinas and boat ramps. Close to the retreat is the Villages Marina and a year round indoor water park.
